A dedicated group of volunteers at the Forum organise trips and social events ranging from social gatherings in Enfield, and informative London visits, for which a Freedom Pass and curiosity are all that is required, to sociable holidays in Europe and Asia. Our events are a great way to meet people from all walks of life who want to enjoy discovering their own locality, city, continent and world. All our trips and events will be posted on this page.

UPCOMING EVENTS

21 – 27 June 2021. Channel Islands Explorer

Join us on this long-awaited triple decker tour of the beautiful Channel Islands. We have a packed itinerary exploring Jersey, Guernsey and Sark, with lots to see and do but still time to relax by the pool or on the beaches.  This holiday includes flights, coach trips, boat trips and horse drawn carriage ride-what a mixture of transport! Oh yes and half board hotel accommodation and all excursions too!

Price £885 twin/£1100 single occupancy for 6 nights. Places are limited and so it is wise to get your place reserved as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.

Thursday 1 July. Fruits of their labours. Day trip to Essex in two parts

A relaxing coach day tour of two of Essex’s historical jewels. We spend the morning at Cressing Temple Barns and Granary, grade 1 listed 13th century Templar buildings with a guided tour. After an included pub lunch in the delightful village of Coggeshall, we spend the afternoon at the nearby historical Tiptree Fruit Farm (started by the Wilkinson family in 1757). The visit includes a tractor-trailer ride through the strawberry fields, learning about traditional fruit farming methods and cutting-edge new technology. A delicious cream tea in the famous Tiptree tearooms finishes the day in style.

11 – 17 October. Historic Cities of the Danube

Join us on this first, although postponed from October 2020, Forum river cruise with Arena River Cruises for six days. This will be by flight from Heathrow to Munich and then an amazing Danube cruise, visiting musical Vienna, the world’s most beautiful city of Budapest, the ancient capital of Slovakia – Bratislava and the riverside village of Weissenkirchen in Austria. T
he price includes accommodation and all meals and teas, cakes and snacks, drinks with meals, toiletries, guided excursions and bottled water. Prices do vary a little depending on the cabin location and occupancy. It will be a truly magical way to travel as next summer draws to a close.

February 2022. Highlights of Sri Lanka

Winter escape to the sun. It has been decided to postpone this holiday until 2022, so that participants don’t have to wear facemasks on a longer flight and to give members the confidence to travel further afield once the world begins to recover.
